Real Name: Irene Sandusky
Born: November 22, 1982,  Lockport New York.

The Gryphon was born Irene Sandusky and seemed to have a normal (human life) until about 1 year ago. At that time she vanished and was reported as missing. Only recently was she discovered in a secret Council base in the Rogue Isles. When Strela attacked the base she found a gryphon like creature in a confinement cylinder.    Confused and a little dazed she wandered the isles for a while till she encountered a U,S, Navy gunboat (the story can be found here captfox.deviantart.com/art/CoH… ). After a brief fight with Coastie ( captfox.deviantart.com/art/Cit… ) he managed to calm her down.

   She was taken to a Navy facility before being evaluated at an unspecified government facility in New York state. There she met Paladin the leader of the New York State Super group Team Excelsior.

  Still settling into the group and still coming to terms with her change and the brutal experience she suffered. Know to be suffering nightmares and flashbacks. But is being helped. New York state seems to have taken to her heart.

   Once while involved with stopping a Super attack on a bank in Lockport NY she showed up wearing only 2 pasties and a pair of thong panties. She was then dubbed by the media the city's LEAST DRESSED resident Super Heroine. She is also their ONLY resident heroine. Irene took the joke with good humor but has since changed her dress to the one shown above. But she does still live there along with her family. The city has taken her to heart even if they aren't exactly sure what she is. Rumors of the local police having a betting pool on if she is mammalian or avian are not true. At least the city keeps denying it.
